Cha-Cha and the Meaning of Life

Soft gray and white clean abstract background

Cha-cha and the meaning of life.
There are no straight lines.
Everything swirls around us,
a mad dust storm.
Slow down
and like still water
things become clear.
Simplify.
Bit by bit, remove,
and watch life grow.
Persistence
Process
always wins.
Hate is wasted.
Fear is wasted.
Neither builds anything worth having.
Love works. It is stronger than we believe,
The center of the universe, too often abandoned
for lesser passions.
Wait for God.
His schedule is different than ours,
and always wiser.
Read. Pray. Think.
Listen. Understand.
Only then, speak.
Nothing great is done best.
Alone.
Nothing.
Everything changes,
The best solution is to learn to dance.
The cha-cha works well.
About this poem
This was going to be a series of “shortlings”, little three line, almost haiku-ish poems. But I decided they work better as one.  Mostly they are things I often find myself saying to my clients and parishioners.
Be well. Travel wisely,
Tom
